In today’s stressful world people are suffering in spirit, mind and body. When Jesus came among us, He brought a vital ministry of healing. But that ministry didn’t disappear when He ascended back into heaven. His Spirit remained with us and the healing He brings is very much available to us today. Through His tremendous sacrifice on the cross, Jesus offers healing and reconciliation for anyone that seeks it. Christ Healing Center Ministries provides more than an isolated, remote healing service conducted by a professional minister. Our prayer volunteers work hand-in-hand with ministers from many denominations to provide a safe place where the hurting can call on the Heavenly Father for healing.

CHRIST HEALING CENTER
GRAND OPENING

A bright sunny day greeted all of the people who came to be a part of the great celebration of Christ Healing Center’s Grand Opening Saturday October 6th 2007.  Even though it was a very busy weekend for other distractions such as college football games and South Texas bird hunting just to name a few, we had standing room only in our freshly painted and beautifully decorated sanctuary.

The Rev. Donna Streib from Alamo Heights United Methodist Church opened the ceremony with a Spirit-inspired prayer. Our program was graced by the wonderful music minister, Russell Thompson, of Houston, TX, who led us in powerful and joy-filled worship. The Rev. Buckner Fanning, the dynamic, popular and very much-loved, retired pastor of Trinity Baptist Church here in San Antonio delivered a wonderful message not soon to be forgotten by all in attendance. The master of ceremonies, The Rev. Dr. Jack Sheffield (our Executive Director), was his typical entertaining self as he introduced the various clergy and other dignitaries who were in attendance.

After the program concluded, all proceeded to our newly-renovated prayer ministry building where a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held after a triumphal blast performed by Jean Eastes, of Kerville’s Impact Church, on a shofar (a traditional Judaic trumpet made from a ram’s horn).  The Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas, The Rt. Rev. David Reed did the honors.  Refreshments were served inside where everyone admired the transformed facility.

Our hearts are full of thanksgiving for what the Lord has provided for us.  We believe we will see many healings come forth from our Christ Healing Center.  We welcome all of you to come by for a visit or receive prayer.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our opening a success!
